Here are the people that I worked with on a daily basis:

•  Miriam Starkman
  • As the Hillel of Metro Detroit Director, she's in charge of overseeing the staff and programs that are not necessarily for students. I didn't form close relationship with Miriam that much throughout my fellowship, because we almost never worked together.
•  Sue Stettner
  • Sue is the Assistant Director and the JCSC Coach. I worked with Sue very much and she is a very cool person. We actually started on the same day, August 1st. She has been involved in the Jewish Community for many years and has wealth of experience that I learned from. Sue is also the Direct Supervisor of both the Program Director and JCSC Fellow.
•  Lesley Weiss
  • Lesley is the Program Director. She is mainly involved with empowerment students, but she does some engagement work at Oakland University. She is knowledgable and works very hard. You will most likely see her in the office before you get there, and after you leave!
• Aaron Kaufman
  • Aaron is the Campus Director at Eastern Michigan University. He is usually very helpful with doing programs and just as being the only other guy on staff. We connected a lot and would usually talk about Hillel at EMU over a very competetive game of pool in the basement of the Hillel House. He was also pretty close to my age, so we also connected on that level.
• Arlene Carter
  • Arlene is the Office Manager at Wayne State (the headquarters for Hillel of Metro Detroit). She is the coolest office manager! She always has a smile or a laugh for the rest of the staff.
    • If the copier jams.... she's your woman!
    • If the Printers don't print ... Ask Arlene!
    • If you need to find a name of a student in the database Ask Arlene!!!
• Linda "the Cook"
  • She works every lunch at WSU at the Kosher Cafe.
  • She's an amazing cook!
  • Linda is an extremely nice person. She would always cheer me up with whatever she was cooking, and HEY... it's free for the JCSC!
  • She is Sephardic so her food has more of a kick... which I love!
